The principle of horizontal slurry pump is mainly based on the action of centrifugal force. The following is the working principle of the horizontal slurry pump:
Structure overview: Horizontal slurry pump is a single stage, single suction cantilever type centrifugal pump, mainly composed of pump body, impeller, pump cover, bearing body, bracket and other parts. The import and export are on the same horizontal axis, the pump body is horizontally open, and the import and export pipes do not need to be removed during maintenance, and the maintenance is convenient.
How it works:
When the motor starts, the motor drives the pump shaft and impeller to rotate through the coupling.
In the rotating process of the impeller, a certain centrifugal force is generated between the blade and the liquid. Under the action of the centrifugal force, the liquid is thrown from the center of the impeller to the outer edge of the impeller. Because the liquid is thrown out, the center of the impeller forms a low pressure area, and the liquid continuously flows into the low pressure area from the suction tube under the action of atmospheric pressure.
When the impeller is rotating, the blade continuously sweeps through the suction tube, so that the liquid can be continuously sucked and thrown out.
The liquid that is thrown out flows through the pump shell into the pump outlet pipe, which is the basic working principle of the centrifugal pump.
Material transportation: Horizontal slurry pump is mainly used to transport slurry containing solid particles, such as slag, slurry, tailings, coal slurry, ash slag, mud and so on. The conveying medium has the characteristics of abrasive, high concentration and large flow rate.
Sealing system: Horizontal slurry pumps are usually equipped with a shaft sealing system to prevent liquid leakage in the pump. Common shaft seal systems include packing seals, auxiliary impeller seals and mechanical seals.
Adjust the clearance: The horizontal slurry pump can control the flow rate and head of the pump by adjusting the clearance between the impeller and the front guard. When the clearance is reduced, the pump head will increase, but the flow rate will decrease; On the contrary, when the gap increases, the flow of the pump will increase, but the head will decrease.
In short, the horizontal slurry pump produces centrifugal force through the rotation of the impeller to transport the slurry containing solid particles, and its working principle is similar to that of the centrifugal pump.
